2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and improve our website and services.

  • Manage and fulfil bookings for coaching, mentoring, courses, programmes, workshops, and classes (live or self-paced).

  • Communicate with you about your purchases, bookings, or enquiries.

  • Send newsletters and updates (only if you have subscribed).

  • Analyse and improve the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

  • Use it for other purposes with your consent or as permitted or required by law.

3. Lawful bases for processing

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis to process your personal data. Depending on the context, we rely on:

  • Consent (for newsletters and non-essential cookies 🍪).

  • Contract (to provide services you have purchased or booked).

  • Legal obligations (such as tax and accounting records).

  • Legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries, analyse and improve our services, and ensure the effective running of our business).

4. Newsletter services

We currently provide newsletters via Substack. If you choose to subscribe to our Substack newsletter, A Kindfulness Journey, Substack will process your personal information (such as your email address) according to their Privacy Policy.

Please note: while our website previously offered a Wix newsletter option, we did not transfer subscribers to Substack. If you were subscribed via Wix, you must choose to subscribe separately on Substack if you wish to continue receiving updates.

5. Disclosure of your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Service providers (e.g. Wix, PayPal, Apple Pay, booking platforms, Substack, email providers).

  • Authorities or regulators, where required by law.

  • Third parties in the event of a transfer of business activities or assets.

All third parties are required to respect the security of your personal data and process it lawfully.

6. Data and content on our website

  • Website content may include original works created by us, as well as licensed media from Wix, Canva, or AI tools. These are used under licence and are not owned by us.

  • Any recordings, videos, or audios featuring the voice or image of Pilar Rivera remain protected and may not be copied, reproduced, or used (including for artificial intelligence training) without prior written permission.

7. Recordings of sessions

  • Certain live courses, programmes, or workshops may be recorded for educational, training, or supervision purposes.

  • Participants are always informed in advance and asked to sign a separate consent form before taking part.

  • Recordings are focused on Pilar Rivera in her role as teacher. Participant voices may be captured during discussion, and in rare cases, participant images may appear if cameras are on.

  • Recordings are used solely for the stated educational or supervision purpose and are not shared publicly.

  • Sessions are mainly held on Zoom, which automatically displays an on-screen notification when recording begins. Participants must acknowledge this message in order to continue in the session. This serves as an additional reminder and safeguard, but does not replace the prior consent we request before participation.

  • Individual coaching and mentoring sessions are never recorded.

Please note: recording is a requirement of participation in certain live courses, programmes, or workshops. If you do not wish to be recorded, you cannot take part in the relevant live offering.
